It's all about planning this week.
As you know, we received our planning permission (another week before it's official) and we just sent in the next one in for reasons that will be revealed shortly.
But basically we are looking to build a small earthen hut for our (future) electrical plant and open up a window in the side wall of the house to let more light in and allow for a potential extension further down the line.
As such, and because we really can't afford any delays, we requested a pre-planning meeting with the Heritage Officer and area planner to discuss the particular requirements and whether we should split the two applications, which they didn't think was necessary (to my relief). As part of the process we presented more of a long-term strategy for the site and it was all very positive.
So yesterday I finally lodged the application using the new online system (hooray!!!)!
And just a quick update on the approved application, no ridiculous conditions, I'd even say some are irrelevant, and we've already started making plans for putting things into motion. I've made enquiries with the septic tank suppliers and our ICW designers in order to take this into the next stage.
In a quick update of progress on site, we've hit some delays on the mill front and what was going to be a two week break ended up being a 6 week break. We should be getting stuck back in from Monday onwards.
But we weren't idle anyway, I'm making progress in unearthing my future circus studio. Here's the before / after pics. Backbreaking work (but addictive), and I've barely scratched the surface...
